Interview with Our Keynote Speaker Mike Carr

Excerpt from the interview with Mike Carr

When the World Championship of Public Speaking went virtual for the first time in 2020, our keynote speaker Mike Carr seized the opportunity to play with the possibilities of the medium. Along with a great story, his clever use of the camera frame helped him score a win. See the full interview with Mike on our blog and, better yet, see him live on April 23.

In addition to talking about the techniques from his championship speech, Mike shares tips for our webinar contest competitors, addresses the additional challenges he is encountering in hybrid in-person/online events, and explains how and why he creates his selfie videos to stay in touch with audiences and friends between speeches.

Mike is one of a dozen great speakers we have lined up for you — see the full schedule with timezone adjustments at evvcon.com/schedule-2022/

What Happened to VTM CON?

This is the same event under a different name. Previously it was promoted as an unofficial conference for online Toastmasters — although we also sought to attract people from outside of the Toastmasters community who would benefit from the content focused on excellence in online speaking and leadership. Toastmasters International required us to change the name, because we don’t represent an official business unit such as a district. Nevertheless, EVV CON is supported primarily by Toastmasters volunteers who believe the leadership lessons of the organization include exploring new frontiers.
